About Cardiology

"

“According to Harvard Medical School, the heart beats an average of 2.5 billion times in a lifetime.”

That’s a big number, showing how hard our heart works throughout our lives to keep blood circulating and delivering oxygen and nutrients to our tissues and organs. That’s why it’s so important to take care of our heart and live a healthy lifestyle to support its function and prevent cardiovascular disease.

Our goal is to take care of your heart, control if it works properly and what we can do to keep it in great shape for as long as possible.

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide. Regular heart health tests are the basis for taking care of your heart health!

Heart Health Questions and Answers

What comprehensive diagnostic tests of the heart and vessels does LIFE offer in Warsaw?

At LIFE, we offer comprehensive cardiac diagnostics, including a number of specialized tests. Our offer includes: echocardiography allowing for a detailed assessment of the structure and function of the heart, ECG Holter enabling round-the-clock monitoring of heart rhythm, standard ECG test recording the electrical activity of the heart, RR Holter for round-the-clock blood pressure measurement, ABI-Boso test assessing the condition of peripheral arteries, and Doppler examination of veins and arteries showing blood flow in vessels. All tests are performed by experienced specialists using modern diagnostic equipment.

What is the difference between echocardiography, ECG, ECG Holter, RR Holter, ABI-Barefoot and Doppler of veins and arteries?

Each of the tests offered has its own specificity and provides different information about the condition of the cardiovascular system.

  • Echocardiography is an ultrasound examination that shows the structure and function of the heart in real time.
  • An EKG records the heart's momentary electrical activity, while an ECG Holter monitors this activity around the clock or longer.
  • The RR Holter is used for long-term observation of blood pressure.
  • The Doppler scan allows you to assess the blood flow in the blood vessels, helping to detect stenosis and blood clots.

How to prepare for a LIFE echocardiography?

Echocardiography does not require any special preparation on the part of the patient. You can eat and drink normally before the test, as well as take all prescribed medications. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing that can be easily unbuttoned or removed to expose the chest. It is worth bringing previous medical documentation with you, if there is one.

What is the ECG and RR Holter test? How long do they last and how to prepare for them?

The Holter ECG test involves round-the-clock monitoring of the heart rate using a small, portable device connected to electrodes glued to the chest. The RR Holter is an automatic blood pressure recorder that takes measurements around the clock at specified intervals. No special preparation is required for both tests, but you should wear comfortable clothes and avoid intense physical exertion and soaking the electrodes during the test. The standard monitoring time is 24 hours, although it can be extended in some cases.

When is it worth performing an ECG, ECG Holter, RR Holter, ABI-Barefoot and Doppler of veins and arteries?

Diagnostic tests of the heart and vessels are recommended if there are certain symptoms or risk factors.

  • ECG is performed in the case of chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath or dizziness.
  • An ECG Holter is indicated when cardiac arrhythmias and syncope are suspected.
  • Holter RR helps in the diagnosis and control of hypertension treatment.
  • The ABI-Barefoot test is particularly useful for complaints related to intermittent claudication and leg pain when walking.
  • Doppler of veins and arteries is performed in the case of swelling of the limbs, leg pain and suspected thrombosis.

Is cardiac and vascular diagnostics in LIFE painful and invasive?

All diagnostic tests we offer are non-invasive and painless. ECG, echocardiography, ECG Holter, RR Holter and Doppler tests are performed painlessly by applying appropriate sensors to the body surface. The ABI-Boso test is only associated with cuff compression during extremity pressure measurement, similar to standard blood pressure measurement.

How much does a cardiac echocardiography, Holter ECG, ECG, Holter RR, ABI-Barefoot and Doppler of veins and arteries cost in LIFE (private)?

The prices of diagnostic tests at LIFE are competitive and adapted to the scope of procedures performed. A detailed price list of all tests, including echocardiography, ECG Holter, standard ECG, RR Holter, ABI-Boso and Doppler of veins and arteries, is available on our website or when contacting the reception. We also offer test packages at attractive prices.

How long does it take to get the results of heart and vascular tests performed at LIFE?

The waiting time for the results depends on the type of test performed. Standard ECG results are available immediately after the test. For other tests, such as echocardiography, ECG Holter, RR Holter, ABI-Barso and Doppler, the waiting time is usually several working days, during which the specialist analyzes the collected data and prepares a detailed description of the test.

Do I need a referral to perform tests at LIFE?

Performing diagnostic tests of the heart and vessels at LIFE does not require a referral from a doctor. Patients can decide on their own whether to undergo a preventive or diagnostic examination. However, we recommend that you consult your doctor to properly interpret the results and determine further medical treatment.

How do I make an appointment for heart and vascular tests at LIFE?

Registration for diagnostic tests at LIFE is simple and convenient. You can make an appointment by phone, through the patient portal available on our website or in person at the facility in Warsaw. Our reception staff will help you choose a convenient date and answer all your questions about preparing for the examination.
